I get it. Another Valentine's Day has come around, and you still don't have a Valentine...😒
Sometimes you wonder if you'll be single forever.
Don't go down that thought road, friend. It's a trap!
The devil would love nothing more than to get you discouraged, frustrated, mad at God and even a little depressed.
What's the use?
When we get discouraged, we tend to give up hope. Proverbs 13:12 says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick..."(NKJV) We are told in scripture to "hope in God". Because in order to have faith, you need hope. Hope is a springboard for your faith.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (NKJV)
Faith is fueled by your hope.
At 41 years old and still single, I know all the feelings you may have. I still have a desire to be married and to have children. When will it happen? I don't know. But I do know it will.
Rest
And how could I be so confident? Because I've learned to rest in God. A lot of you are rest-less! The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, " Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]." (AMP)
You don't have peace because you are restless in this area. You haven't fully surrendered it to God. And I know some of y'all are like, I've been waiting for years. So have I...so have I!🙋🏽♀️ Learn to rest, submit this area of your life to Him fully.
God knows, friend. He hasn't forgotten about you. Sometimes He's waiting for us to change, heal, mature and grow in order to be able to bring that person to us.
